FRAME: WHITE OAK
White oak is an opaque finish with a slightly visible texture. The colour tone is pure and pleasantly neutral. The strip goes excellently with many nuances: namely, whenever the frame should appear neither too cold nor warm-toned.
The moulding is 40 mm deep and gives the frame and the picture a true three-dimensional effect on the wall.
GLASS: MUSEUM ACRYLIC ANTI-REFLECTIVE
This acrylic glass from the American manufacturer True Vue combines all requirements in one: perfectly anti-reflective, anti-static, abrasion-resistant, lightweight, maximum UV protection, great color reproduction. This type requires a higher budget and is a premiumpicture glass from small to "XL" format.
Advantages: Optium Museum Acrylic® is an acrylic glass and combines many positive properties. It is anti-reflective, antistatic, shatterproof, scratch-resistant and protects against UV light. It is therefore the ideal solution for aesthetically demanding and conservative works of art.
Optics: The specially developed Optium™ technology from Tru Vue ensures brilliant optical properties. This allows colours to be reproduced without distortion. Optium Museum Acrylic® is also characterized by very good contour sharpness and contrast. Reflections are minimized to less than 1 percent.
Antistatic: Thanks to its antistatic properties, it is also suitable for working with sensitive surfaces, light grammages, textiles or loose pigments - for example pastels, charcoal, red chalk or pencil.
UV protection: As with PLEXIGLAS® , over 99 percent of ultraviolet radiation is prevented. This preserves the luminosity and freshness of an exhibit much longer than with normal picture frame glass without UV protection.
Structure: Optium Museum Acrylic® is 3 millimeters thick and weighs less than glass. The acrylic substrate used is particularly shatterproof. Its surface coating on both sides makes it scratch-resistant and resistant to abrasion and chemicals. This makes the glass less sensitive when framing, changing, cleaning or transporting for traveling exhibitions. The glass is also available on request in 4.5 and 6 mm thickness for "XL" applications.
Hanging: For optimum display, picture frames should not be hung opposite a window or directly illuminated. This is because residual reflections are possible despite the strong anti-reflective coating.
Cleaning: Optium Acrylic can be easily cleaned dry with a microfiber cloth. Cleaning with water or commercially available glass cleaner should be carried out carefully - as cleaning residues are more visible than with other glass types. To remove visible streaks, a mixture of 1 part spirit and 10 parts water is recommended.
