VIVA LA LABIA by Murray Gaylard x Georg Hornemann After eating a blueberry muffin, Murray one day folded the paper mould and put it on his desk. Struck by its form he had to think of the shell in Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus”. The way the blueberries had burst and naturally stained the paper he found to be extremely beautiful. Turning the folded paper around he was reminded of flowers, envelopes, shells, and yes, also a vagina - all of which have one thing in common: a crevice or opening, into which something is allured or drawn. Using these casted blueberry Muffins Hornemann created unique series of rings as a wearable jewelry sculpture. However the starting point was a painting.
